Richard Cohen:
I offer my own U.N. resolution. I want the United Nations to condemn Palestinian terrorism, specifically suicide bombers and, most specifically, the use of confused and sad kids for that purpose. It's pretty simple: If you cannot condemn the murder of innocents, especially by children, then you have no business condemning anything else. In the undiplomatic language of my old neighborhood, put up or shut up.
I got nothin' to add to that.
Condemnation, being talk, is cheap. Arafat routinely condemns bombing. How about actually taking steps to stop it (say, by arresting people).
The US even offered such an amendment to the vetoed resolution, but it was rejected, of course.
That would perpetuate the one-man-one-vote tyrannies of the world that make up the majority of the UN membership how?
If there isn't a few million bucks in it for skimming off the top I frankly just don't see it...
