But His Ties Are Still Ugly
Posted by Stephen Green  ·  19 March 2003

Neil Cavuto on Fox News:

I do find it interesting that ever since we announced an ultimatum to Iraq, there has been a lot of back peddling from our so-called friends. France is volunteering to help us rebuild and Germany is saying, we always loved the U.S.

Once "out" countries want "in."

Turkey's scrambling to offer room for our troops. Russia's just trying to staying quiet. And before long, I half expect Belgium to send our soldiers chocolates.

It's amazing what a little decisiveness can do. Suddenly fence sitters become armchair helpers.

I just hope this country has a good memory. That we not forget how so many other countries left us high and dry.

How the Germans, of all people, had the gall to call us militaristic.

How the French called us duplicitous.

How they flew around Africa, literally trying to buy off countries to block us.

And now they're feeling blocked. And now they're worried -- very worried.

What will happen to their deals and their contracts and their business commitments in the Gulf? I know a place they can put those deals and those contracts and those commitments.

It's amazing these guys think we're dumb enough to forgive and forget. They know us well: We're so decent we do forgive and we do forget.

Me? Sadly, I'm a tad more vindictive.

I remember the ones who said they were my friends and proved it. I remember more the ones who said they were my friends and did not.

Cavuto is a more-or-less confessed Democrat. But he isn't just a Liberal for Liberation, he sounds today like a Liberal for Retribution.

Sweet.

Comments

Remember the definition of a neo-con? A liberal who's been mugged.

Methinks Cavuto has been mugged in international relations, and has come out the other side, loaded for bear.

I keep thinking of Clinton's statement that it's better to be "strong and wrong" than to be right and weak.

Courage and certainty of conviction matter, even outside the U.S.

Cavuto is a Democrat? He sounds like a Republican, always. Hmm. Never make too-quick assumptions, I suppose.

Neil Cavuto is an ignorant ass-hole! Just what are his qualifications to be lecturing on economics or anything for that matter. The guy is a shill. an empty suit, a complete waste of human flesh.

Cavuto is a pompous, uninformed moron who calls himself a journalist. The guy lives in a black and white, us v.s "them" world. He seriously needs to get laid.

Whoever said that Cavuto is a Democrat must have been smoking some heavy shit.

Economically the guy is a Reaganite 100%. Foreign policy wise he's a Reaganite as well, Bushite Jr. too.

Socially he may be moderate I don't know though that's not what he comments on However, he's a traditionalist for sure socially and I imagine is not for all the secularists cynical assholes waging a war on the comfortable traditions present in this country, and trying to turn us into the cynical secular Europeans.

So by any stretch Cavuto is a conservative or at least a right of center Republican.

WHAT MEASURING STICK WERE YOU USING?

Mike
