Short Skirt/Forget the Long Jacket
Posted by Stephen Green  ·  24 September 2002

Yummy
I'd love to join the Buffy Blogburst, but I've only ever seen the first two seasons -- and I can't let myself read any spoilers.

Wish they'd hurry up and release Season Three on DVD so I can get a little more caught up.

So exactly how many years am I behind, anyway?

NOTE: OK, maybe one little spoiler would be all right. Will someone please tell me if Charisma Carpenter continues to wear low-cut blouses and high-cut skirts?

Baby, if you want more Cordelia, you need to be checking out Angel. Two words: seashell bikini.

Season 7 starts tonight, by the way.

Posted by: Sekimori at September 24, 2002 11:10 AM

Seasons 3 and 4 are available from Amazon UK, but your DVD player has to be able to handle Region 2 disks.

Posted by: Mike at September 24, 2002 11:20 AM

(Seashell bikini? Really?)

Posted by: Mike at September 24, 2002 11:21 AM

whoa, you are behind!
Cordey is on the spinoff series Angel, and at the end of last season she became some sort of demi-god, has short hair, more maternal (Angel had a baby), but still damn sexy.

Posted by: meesh at September 24, 2002 12:50 PM

The Season Three DVD set just got a release date: January 7th. (Mmm, Faith.)

As for the seashell bikini, Cordelia was cast for what was supposed to be her big break into acting - a national commercial for suntan lotion. Instead, she got pulled into a helldimension by the end of the episode. ^_-

(Then again, for the Charmed season premiere on Sunday, they had mermaid Alyssa Milano with just a few pasted-on scales covering her breasts.)

What the heck is a Buffy?

Oh, I remember; it's a TV show full of babes and hunks, kind of like Baywatch with martial arts and wooden stakes, but no bikinis.

What the heck is the point of that?

Angel generally has two or three way-hot Cordelia episodes per season, but her character arc has been moving away from frippery to a more serious role. In general, this means less Charisma eye-candy. And they keep messing with her hair.

Still, the occasional chainmail Princess bikini, waitress outfit with legs up to there, party dress or aforementioned seashell swimsuit are more than enough to set hearts a-flutter.

To answer the question, as far as Buffy Season 3 goes: yes.

Steven, my pet, Buffy is to Baywatch as you are to Warblogger Watch. Gorrit?

Posted by: Sekimori at September 24, 2002 01:52 PM

ooh I like that one.. anyone seen Firefly yet..it rocks, like Buffy (more serious, not so campy, hot chicks, space cowboys with wheel-guns.. yaah)

If I can get blogger publishing to work, I'll have a long review of Firefly up soon.

Posted by: Suman Palit at September 24, 2002 02:20 PM

get with the program. FX shows buffy every day. In sequence.

Check your local listings for times.. I know it's on more than once a day.

A few months ago they were showing 2 eps a day so it was super easy to get caught up.

Posted by: Kevin at September 24, 2002 03:13 PM

If you thought Cordy was something, wait for season three. One word: Faith.

Posted by: Henry Hanks at September 24, 2002 07:18 PM

And yes Firefly rocks.

Posted by: Henry Hanks at September 24, 2002 07:18 PM

Eliza Dusku brings new meaning to the phrase.. ya gotta have Faith ;-)

Posted by: MarkD at September 24, 2002 07:25 PM

And Faith is back for the final 5 eps at the end of the season. She might even show up in 3 Angel eps.

5x5!

Posted by: Sandy P. at September 25, 2002 12:57 AM

Henry, I told Stephen that in email just yesterday. Neither man nor woman nor beast is safe from the Faith.

Sandy...

Tara: "Five by five? Five what by five what?"
Willow: "See, that's the thing, no one knows."

Posted by: Sekimori at September 25, 2002 06:29 AM

On the five by five thing--except I think Willow would know. Heck, I know.
