Cowardice
Posted by Stephen Green · 4 September 2002
Mike Daley found this little goody buried in a Knight-Ridder Washington Bureau story: Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., just back from Europe, said she detected growing opposition to the United States among America's allies. "The driver of a lot of this animus," she said, "is the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. To leave this unresolved and to attack an Arab country is going to be viewed as an attack on the Arab world." That there is strong anti-Americanism in Western Europe comes as no surprise. What should shock you is a United States Senator, in time of war, backing down in the face of it. NOTE: I started off on a mini-rant, but thought better of it, but allow me to inflict one line on you. "For the elected representitive of a nation created in defiance of European authoritarianism and decadence, to give one whit of thought as to their opinion of her love of country, is a literal slap in the face to every self-respecting citizen who voted for her." Well said. Posted by: MarkD at September 4, 2002 07:04 PMThen again, can one vote for Feinstein and still retain one's self-respect? Posted by: CGHill at September 4, 2002 07:07 PMI was born in California. I love my state. But this is the sort of thing that drives one absolutely BATSHIT! Condit, Boxer, Feinstein, Pelosi....AARRRRRGGGH! Somebody tell Bush, we are under the evil domination of MORONS! Send help! Posted by: Colin at September 4, 2002 08:00 PM"To leave this unresolved and to attack an Arab country is going to be viewed as an attack on the Arab world." I should hope so. Posted by: Sean Kirby at September 4, 2002 08:44 PMIt will be interesting to see how Sen. Feinstein votes when the time for a vote comes. Hope somebody stores this article somewhere and brings it out the next time she runs. Posted by: Chris at September 4, 2002 10:05 PMDid I read that correctly? She said she was embarrassed to wear a flag pin? If that's the case, she should resign. Posted by: RR Ryan at September 5, 2002 12:06 AMI wouldn't sweat the small shit. DiFi has always had foot-in-mouth disease, but she is also pretty much a board member of the Elders of Zion. She's got no love for Sodamn Insane, Asshead Jr., the Soddys, or the Pals. She'll do the right thing. Reluctantly, perhaps, but she'll do it. Posted by: mojo at September 5, 2002 12:23 AMGiven that the Elders of Zion is strictly fiction, I could buy that she's a board member. Posted by: David Perron at September 5, 2002 10:56 AMI voted for her against that f-ing jackhole Tom McClintock, but as far as I'm concerned, she, Boxer, Singapore Grey, and those other fools giving California a bad name (still) are fired this November. You're welcome, bob There's no hope for California. The corrupt idiots run the state, and since there's no hope for breaking their evil dominion, all the good, sane, smart people run screaming from the state as soon as possible. This of course, contributes to the reverse social Darwinism at work here, where the least fit continue to rise to the top. Posted by: David at September 5, 2002 12:18 PMSenator Feinstien Embarrassed!! Now they've gone too far!! Posted by: Mike M at September 5, 2002 01:00 PMI think Bob (above) meant Campbell not McClintock. Campbell was the US House member from the SanJose area who ran weakly against DiFi in 2000. His seat went to Honda, a democrat I believe. McClintock is in the state legislature and hasn't run against Dianne...yet. And, he ain't no "f-ing jackhole" either. Would be great to see him whip Dianne and Chris Cox knock off Tiny Boxer. Perhaps I'm California dreaming. Posted by: TGS at September 5, 2002 03:51 PMthis just goes to show you the kind of none thinking idiots we have allowed ourselves to be represented by... remember to the rest of the world we are a govt for the people BY THE PEOPLE, therefore whatever actions yr govt takes... they are taking on yr behalf... in yr name. show yr anger in the face of adversity... rebellion is TRUE patriotism... patriotism is not blind obedience to the president the congress or any other monarch... remeber ANGER IS A GIFT. Posted by: fried green pig brains at September 5, 2002 07:24 PMIf anger is a gift, so is the ability to spell correctly. Rebellion is not "true patriotism" if it's CLUELESS rebellion. Wipe foam off; try again. Posted by: David Perron at September 6, 2002 08:52 AMoh gee, lets make fun of his spelling while the country goes to crap... david its people like you who are to blame... mindless drones being led astray... come to the light... wake up before there is nothing left to save. Posted by: fried green pig brains at September 6, 2002 08:35 PMI'm a Califorian, an American, and proud of my country, NOT my senator. She embarrases me! My mother taught me about patriotism. She was from Denmark and lived through the Nazi occupation there during WWII. You will not find a more patriotic country than Denmark. Their flag even has a name. Flags are flown and seen everywhere, they even put them on wedding cakes and on their Christmas trees. The Danes love their country. And because of their love of country and people, they fought the Nazi plan and saved almost all the Jewish Danes. That, Ms. Feinstein, is what is born out of proud patriotism!!
