Why do I bother to tell you this? Because IHS is one of the premier Holocaust-denial groups in the United States. Other guests and topics include: Tom Sunic, author and scholar, former professor of political science in the United States, and, until recently, a diplomat in Europe of the Croatian foreign service, will speak on the mass killings and brutal oppression of ethnic Germans and German prisoners of war at the hands of the Tito Communists in Yugoslavia in the aftermath of World War II (1945-1953). Payback is a bitch, fellas -- but it was still only payback. What, no discussion of how Yugoslavians were butchered by the tens of thousands under Croatia's Hitler-loving Ustashi regime? Tony Martin, Professor of African studies at Wellesley College (Massachusetts), who has authored or compiled/edited eleven books, will speak on the Jewish role in the trans-Atlantic slave trade. Damn Jews -- they must've learned those slave trade secrets from their Arab masters. Robert Faurisson, Europe's foremost Holocaust revisionist scholar, will provide another of the witty and thought-provoking presentations that never fail to delight audiences. He brings to the podium the insight and savvy of a scholar who was educated at the Paris Sorbonne, and who served for years as a professor at the University of Lyon II. He will speak on a little known fact of World War II history: punishments, including death sentences, of German soldiers, officers and government officials for killing or even mistreating Jews. Ha ha ha! Oh, those wacky, witty revisionist historians. They leave the yahoos rolling in the aisles every time. Think he'll discuss that other little-known fact of World War II history: German soldiers, officers, and government officials shot, starved, and gassed millions and millions of Jews, Gypsies, gays, political opponents, and other "undesirables?" Here's the kicker from the bottom of the page: "Sponsored by the Institute for Historical Review, the Conference is a private meeting. We reserve the right to refuse admission to anyone." Whoever could they mean by that? Comments
Steve, Great post. I'd love to see NRO address Sobran's upcoming speech, and the venue he's giving it in, in their Corner Weblog. Posted by: Ed Driscoll at June 13, 2002 05:38 PMFirst there was MEIN KAMPF DENIAL In the nineteen thirties, intellectuals deemed it sheik to ignore Hitler's aggression and genocide plans. Second, there was HOLOCAUST DENIAL. From the late forties, it has been sheik to place extravagant verification burdens (ie. there is no proof to substantiate these allegations, blah blah) on those who present evidence of the Nazi's mass murder policies. Now there is KHURASAAN DENIAL. Our media-political-and academic elites deny what Moslems in Iran, tribal Pakistan, Afghanistan, etc readily affirm: Mohammed once issued a prophecy in which the "saviour" (Mahdi) raises an army of "70,000" soldiers who, fighting under "black flags" (note the flag of Hizb-ut-Tahrir), will destroy an enemy, which Islamists identify as: "America". According to a Khurasaan affirmer - Sheik al-Hawali (former Saudi dissident, current Saudi hero) - Israel will be destroyed - see "The Day of Wrath" - in the year "2012", after the "destruction of America". As for D3, I don't care what these fucks think, but anyone with half a brain would want to know if the enemy is prophecy driven. If you don't have shit for brains, and if objectivity is not anathema to you, check out www.islamicawakening.com and www.khurasaan.com, and try and learn a little about enemy thinking. If not, then: GO FUCK YOURSELF!!! Posted by: RG Fulton at June 13, 2002 06:44 PMRG, I'm the only one here who gets the badger the readers. Play nice, please. Posted by: Stephen Green at June 13, 2002 06:46 PM"Holocaust revisionist scholar?" Isn't that, like, an oxymoron or a contradiction in terms or something? Idiots. Posted by: Mike at June 13, 2002 07:26 PMStephen: DENIERS don't speak the Queen's English like you. However, I'm surprised that you missed my deliberate error, unless you make it a practice of substituting "sheik" for "chic". Being "unsheik" means that you could have unwanted children. You want to watch for that. Posted by: RG Fulton at June 13, 2002 08:29 PMDid you happen to watch the annual White House Media Correspondents Dinner the other week? Drew Carey gave the comedic keynote, noting that it now seems possible to open the book of Revelation and just start checking things off. One outlandish event after another foretold there seem to be happening before our eyes. This Sobran shithead draws attention to yet another verse. I've got to get smarter on this biblical stuff and understand who the heck Gog and Magog are... The line "punishments, including death sentences, of German soldiers, officers and government officials for killing or even mistreating Jews," is actually correct. Richard Rhodes' new book "Masters of Death" gave instances in which some of this happened. I don't remember anything concerning death sentences, but some officers overseeing Einsatzgruppen activities in Russia were cashiered for carrying out their activities with too much entheusiasm. They overstepped their ordered because they loved killing. You see, the Nazis didn't want sadists working for them, just good soldiers who took orders. But, really, this is on a par with saying that black slavery was fine and dandy because free blacks held slaves too. BTW, Rhodes' book is a real tough read, as he quotes in detail from Nazi testimony and memoirs about how these killings were carried out. "Evil" doesn't even begin to describe what the Nazis were about. Posted by: Bill Peschel at June 13, 2002 09:01 PMFrom the WSJ - Sobran was a senior editor, not *the* editor, of NR--Buckley fired Sobran more than a decade ago because of the his anti-Semitic views. Posted by: Brian at June 14, 2002 12:35 PMSobran's a sad case. A talented, fearless writer who being compelled to be contrarian, goes over the edge when it comes to the Jewish state. Too bad, his essays making the case for Edward DeVere as Shakespeare really take the cake. You know how Sullivan has the "Derbyshires". I've always felt this unfair to Derbyshire. But a "Sobran", now that would really hit home. Posted by: Lloyd Albano at June 14, 2002 12:39 PMTito was himself ambiguous. His main goal was not fighting the Germans, but rather forcing communisme on Yougoslavia. The genuine resistant was Mihailovic. Posted by: lesurvivant at June 15, 2002 05:21 PM |
